Hypothetically, if the plan had worked, and both Romeo and Juliet had survived do you think they would have worked out? Why or why not?

If the plan had worked out, I don't know that a lot would be different in the long run. Romeo and Juliet would probably try to run away together, but they would both end up feeling extremely guilty for lying to and betraying their families. Eventually, they would be too upset to deal with life and they would either run back to their families and beg for forgiveness or kill themselves. Although they would have each other, they would probably be miserable. They would have no way to support themselves and they would regret their actions. Therefore, they would end up dead or separate anyway, not much different from the original ending.

I think that if the plan had worked out, then Romeo and Juliet would not have been allowed. Juliet's death was a sort of wake-up call to the both of the families. And with her death for a cause like love, they realize that it was her life in their hands, for something she wanted. So in a way all of this is bittersweet, because if everyone had survived, there would still be the complication of the families, but the true only way for everything to "work" was with Juliet's, and then Romeo's, death.

If the plan had worked out, their marriage would probably not have worked out well. Looking at the histories of either character, Romeo with his sudden urges and lusting after various women and Juliet with her complete indifference, they were not exactly the dream couple.

No, I don't think the marriage would have worked out because the families depend on each other for many things. Juliet also depends on the Nurse a lot, so it would be a hard adjustment to live by themselves. Also, they are still very young.
